MOTO GUZZI V100 MANDELLO

Moto Guzzi has given us our first glimpse at the forthcoming V100 Mandello which will be fully showcased for the first time at this year ’ s EICMA show in Milan . Hailed as the brand ’ s first new model since turning 100 earlier this year , the V100 Mandello is somewhat of a departure from what we ’ ve come to expect from Moto Guzzi in recent years . While it still retains the signature transverse V-twin powerplant that Moto Guzzi is known for , the V100 Mandello moves into Guzzi ’ s 101st year with the addition of water-cooling and a much more modern aesthetic than recent models from Mandello del Lario . With the official presentation of the model still a couple of months away there is very little information on the ground as to the full specs regarding the V100 , but here ’ s what we know so far . The engine of the V100 is an allnew design ( well , apart from the usual

90-degree v-twin layout anyway ) and forms a stressed member of the chassis . With the name V100 , we expect a displacement of around 1000cc and output of at least 100hp based on previous Guzzi naming convention . From the styling , the V100 Mandello looks to be aimed at the Sport Touring market with a sleek integrated half-fairing blending perfectly with the long ( and rather large looking ) fuel tank . Rolling stock is a set of gorgeous 17-inch alloys with the rear wheel mounted to a single-sided swingarm / shaft drive unit . Braking is Brembo supplied at both ends with twin discs and calipers at the front . The V100 Mandello looks set to move Moto Guzzi forwards in a lot of ways . From its great styling to its new take on the age-old Guzzi V-twin , we ’ re excited to find out all the solid facts when the bike is fully revealed in November at EICMA .
