Norm on a Ducati
18 with no qualifications . He loved hunting wild goats , deer and pigs . He continued with the Forest Service for twenty years . After that he set up is own company , which gained a reputation as a leading pest control company – not only in New Zealand but also all over the world ; working in places like the Galapagos Islands , The British Virgin Islands , USA , Canada , Central America and , of course , New Zealand . Norm returned to New Zealand in 2009 , where he took a job with the Conservation Department based from his home in Te Anau . In 2018 three people where killed in a helicopter crash at Wanaka airport . The team of two helicopters were heading for a Tahr culling mission . It was just lucky for Norm that he was in the other helicopter . Not long after , Norm , with his mate Rod Price ’ s Helicraft racing team , put on a demonstration at Waimate in South Canterbury at a car race . Norm was on his beloved Yamaha TZ750 and as per usual he rode it the way it should have been ridden . After the race , the team all bought a lotto ticket after rubbing Norm ’ s head for just for good luck . Norm was a colourful , fun character around

the motorcycle racing and hunting scene in New Zealand for decades . His smile and fun loving nature will be missed by many who were lucky to know him . Norm passed away peacefully on September 20 , aged 66 , after a battle with cancer . He is survived by his partner Lulis , daughter Chelsea , son Tarne and grandchildren Cole and Celine .
