COMPONENTS KTMs have always had quality levers with everbetter foot pegs and shifters , which take a lot longer to wear out , so these common KTM traits can ’ t be overlooked , you just don ’ t need any accessories on this bike to go race in tough conditions . The hand guards can take a kicking , with quality plastics , all handy stuff already to go . As usual , the hydraulic clutch feel is consistent and light . This year , the pegs are particularly aggressive and it ’ s something you will definitely appreciate when everything ’ s full of clay and wet – and you can still control the bike with the pegs , as is critical if you ’ re racing , or just don ’ t like taking dirt naps in front of your mates . New for 2023 , KTM includes traction control and launch control as a part of the electronics package , both of which you had to pay for previously ( we didn ’ t know this at the time of the test , so didn ’ t test them and can ’ t comment on their effectiveness - Ed ). The quick-shifter is an optional extra that does need to be enabled by the dealer . Having it there on the bike but not useable grinds my Pankel gears . At least the TC and LC both come as a part of the package this
