suspension defaulted to Sport as well , I was very impressed with ride comfort , add in Triumph ’ s Shift Assist and you ’ ve got an easy bike to ride . Approaching the first few turns the 320mm discs with Brembo Monobloc calipers make a very strong impression . They are powerful and the 900 can stop very hard and they ’ ve got excellent feel . In the turns I didn ’ t entirely gel with the Tiger ’ s steering . It feels more like a sports bike and likes to be braked in a straight line , then driven through turns with the power on , in a commanding way - dominated if you like . If you don ’ t take command , it feels like it has a bit of a mind of its own ... whereas most adventure bikes are more relaxed and don ’ t care if you turn power on , or off , or even chop the throttle
mid-turn , they still tend to stay on course . It ’ s just a different feel for an adventure bike , and it is certainly still very capable . The hand adjustable screen is excellent , quick to alter on the move and very effective . I generally seem to struggle with standard screens and , although I ’ m tall , most are worse in the high position for me ... lower is better so the wind hits my shoulders rather than my head . I even chopped 50mm off the top of my Africa Twin screen to get away from the buffeting and make it averagely good . The Triumph screen is great and in the tall position was almost silent with bugger all buffeting – excellent . The GT Pro comes with a centre-stand , making chain lubrication and tensioning a joy rather than a chore .
