THE CLASS OF 2021

T hroughout the history of motorsport there has more often than not been a connection between beauty and performance , the form and function of a racing motorcycle . At the pointy end of motorcycle racing is MotoGP . Fast , brutal , effective motorcycles which only the very apex of apex predators can ride to their potential . They ’ re often achingly pretty despite their obvious brutality . In the past couple of weeks the MotoGP race teams have released their bikes for this year . Instead of sleek curves , we ’ re seeing sharp angles and wings from small to downright huge . In the words of Bob Dylan , it looks like ‘ times they are a changin ’. We ’ re not going to judge which bikes are prettiest , we ’ ll leave that to you , but we ’ ve seen comments stating everything from ‘ so beautiful ’ to ‘ a face only a mother could love ’. It ’ ll be interesting to see which package has worked best come the end of the season , so keep an eye on the manufacturer standings , not just the rider ’ s championship .
