Continuing with that remarkable front end geometry , it imparts a greater sense of safety than a standard two-wheeler , and as one wheel takes a bump the other stays stable , but of course it hits twice as many bumps , three in fact , because the single rear tracks in the middle . If stability is the aim , then Yamaha has achieved something great here . I experimented with large bumps and kerbs and the unit absorbed everything I could throw at it , and maintained stability and direction flawlessly . If you are looking for confidence in the front end as your major focus – whether a new rider or an older one , this will impress .
WEATHERPROOF On the motorway in buffeting wind and rain the Tricity comes into its own , it is nearas-damn-it weatherproof with that big screen and bulkhead upfront keeping the wet at bay . And the scoot zooms along at highway speeds easily and with smooth stability . No gusts could deviate it off track , in spite of winds in excess of 60km / h sweeping across the roads . Top speed appears to be a whisker north of 125km / h and getting there is quite reasonable , the 300 may not be a wheelstanding devil like its big brother , the Niken , but it is quite capable and nimble enough .
