legendary riders that have gone before me .” Racing in Saturday ’ s junior programme at Woodville , Pukekawa ’ s Tyler Brown was a stand-out , finishing unbeaten in the eldest of the junior categories – the 14-16 years ’ 250cc class – a perfect warm-up for him ahead of the New Zealand Junior Championships that were to follow near Tauranga the following weekend . Brown finished ahead of Hamilton ’ s Nick Westgate and Oparau ’ s Hunter Scott at Woodville and it was these two riders who were among those threatening him again at the junior nationals a week later .
JUNIORS Waitoki ’ s Cole Davies also finished his day at Woodville unbeaten as he topped the
12-13 years ’ 85cc class . The podium in this class was completed by Invercargill ’ s Seth Morrow and Eketahuna ’ s Sheldon Brown . It was a similar story with Te Puke ’ s Flynn Watts , who scored a hat-trick of wins in the 12-14 years ’ 125cc class at Woodville , leading home Kobe Thoms , from Leeston , in the South Island . Invercargill ’ s Jack Symon was another who proved to be consistently good , three runner-up finishes allowing him to top the podium in the 15-16 years ’ 125cc class , finishing Saturday ’ s junior racing at Woodville just one point ahead of New Plymouth rider Rian King , with Tauranga ’ s Madoc Dixon third , just two points further back .
