OUR BIKES
a parking spot , with its heavily angled side stand . John did adjust the side stand to try and help me with it , but I really felt that it would suit a taller person . I hated having to think twice every time I tried to park somewhere . I moved back to the 650GS single , and then a 650GS twin and I now own the twin cylinder F700GS – a 2015 model . Not only does my F700GS have the heated grips as standard , but it also has ABS and electric suspension adjustable ( ESA ) that can be changed on the fly , and a main stand .
PERSONALISED UPGRADES John has made some purchases and adjustments to customise the bike for me . First and foremost he added an Akrapovic exhaust ; the sound this makes is exceptional , and lifts my spirits when I start it - it sounds great ! I ride by the sound and feel of my engine so the exhaust note just fine-tunes my entire ride . We also fitted a taller , tinted screen to help with a more comfortable ride in the wind , at higher speeds and long distances ; we regularly do big rides with the BMW Motorcycle Club . For my ‘ road ’ and ‘ off road ’ riding , John fitted engine protection bars , and a sump guard / belly pan . There ’ s the hand protectors and lever protection attached , of course , along with pannier racks and a pair of panniers . I also have a top case and rack fitted . Some of this has proven to be unnecessary as we hardly ever use either the panniers or top case . We each mostly use a BMW soft carry pack attached to the back rack with clip straps .
