Harley Davidson was on hand with its iconic American machinery, supported by their growing dealer network in New Zealand. East Coast Harley Davidson in Mount Maunganui has been open less than 12 months, with industry stalwart Andrew Hardisty at the helm, serving the wider Bay of Plenty district, and the Worsley family have secured the brand for their site in Feilding, to be named Harley Davidson Feilding, opening mid-December. On the Indian Motorcycles stand, the highly anticipated flat-track inspired FTR 1200 drew 102 KIWI RIDER plenty of attention, unveiled in New Zealand for the first time. Event sponsor Ride Forever, an initiative run by the ACC, also had a large display offering riding tips, and courses to help riders improve. The governing body of motorcycling in this country, Motorcycling New Zealand was also on hand, showcasing its two premier categories, the New Zealand Motocross Championship, and the NZSBK New Zealand Superbike Championship, both kicking off for another season in early 2019.
