I started the day on the 350. I was
immediately impressed by the engine’s
ease of use and flexible yet responsive
nature. It is quick, tractable, fun and very
engaging. In comparison the 390 has
more initial punch and low-down torque,
although it’s slightly less responsive and
possibly has less top-end This makes it
slightly lazier to ride but, perhaps, makes
it even more effective for going fast.
The 480 has a terrific power delivery. My
personal bike a KTM 500 EXC-F, and I’d say
the 480 Beta has slightly less overall power,
but has a nicer delivery and feels more
manageable while being every bit as effective.
Overall it feels lighter to ride too, with
less general engine inertia. I have to work
harder to hustle the KTM 500 around than
the 480 Beta. These four-stroke engines
all feel quick, responsive, exciting and fun,
while being totally manageable. They’re
all extremely capable enduro engines.
